A Dollar Out of Fifteen Cents

Wrote this as I struggled leaving my party days and reckless mindset and trying to evolve into a decent human being while in college

life was much simpler when i was a young boy
worries were eliminated
the only thing on my mind was where i’ll be next
things have changed
now i don’t know where i’m going
and am ashamed on where i’ve been
left feeling alienated by a lack of love
and overwhelmed by too much attention
to go back to my dreams
and leave my world of shame and guilt
to love the ones who’ve loved
and hate the ones who’ve hated
help me find my way
